The Z-Wave Alliance brought together more than 100 members from around the world for its biggest event of the year, the Z-Wave Alliance Summit & Unplug Fest 2025. Hosted by Diamond Sponsor Trident IoT, the three-day event combined hands-on testing, strategic insights, and community engagement, showcasing the continued strength and evolution of the Z-Wave ecosystem.

The annual Unplug Fest once again delivered a one-of-a-kind opportunity for live interoperability testing, allowing engineers to ensure new devices and firmware updates perform seamlessly across the Z-Wave network. In one of the event’s most memorable moments, attendees witnessed a skydiving range test that literally took innovation to new heights—demonstrating Z-Wave’s reliability, performance, and long-range connectivity in dramatic fashion.

Beyond the testing lab, the Summit featured a packed agenda of technical deep dives, strategic discussions, and collaborative workshops. Sessions explored the future of Z-Wave, emerging market opportunities, regulatory updates, and advancements in Z-Wave Long Range and security. Members also examined new frontiers in open-source integration, AI applications, and marketing strategies focused on multi-dwelling unit (MDU) adoption and cross-industry collaboration.

Throughout the event, one message was clear: collaboration drives innovation. As members exchanged ideas, strengthened partnerships, and tackled real-world challenges together, the Summit reinforced the Alliance’s commitment to advancing interoperability and expanding the global smart home and smart building markets.

The Z-Wave Alliance extended a special thank you to its sponsors—ADT, Aeotec, Alarm.com, ASSA ABLOY, BlueConnect Partners, Fortune Brands Innovations, MKLogic, Johnson Controls, SEACOMP, Silicon Labs, Trident IoT, XThings, and Zooz—for making this year’s event possible.
