Price and Availability
The Mophie Powerstation Wireless Slim with Stand is available to purchase now. It comes in two sizes, either a 5,000mAh or a 10,000mAh battery capacity. The 5K model retails for $70 and the 10K model sells for $90.
Both models have the same features, only differing in size and weight. (Mophie does not cite the official weight.) The power banks come in a single black color. In case you’re confused by the naming, Mophie does offer these exact same power banks without a stand for $10 cheaper, per model.

Small Details Make This Power Bank Stand Out
Power banks are nearly all the same now. There are some clever ones out there, but largely the deciding factors come down to the tiny details. That’s the case here with Mophie’s latest magnetic Powerstation models.
The most obvious feature is the kickstand on the back. It’s not hidden and isn’t shy, but isn’t overly bold. The stand is coated in a material that looks like fabric, but feels like it has a plastic coating. I think this is the best of both worlds. It looks more sophisticated than plastic, but shouldn’t fray or wear as quickly.

I didn’t mind the feel of the stand protruding off the back. I don’t know if it particularly helped with grip while it was attached to my phone, but it didn’t hurt holding it either.
Here’s where the stand excels, however. It can bend farther than you might expect to accommodate wide viewing angles. It also rotates 180 degrees to facilitate even more viewing angles. The stand can be a bit of a fidget toy, but it feels strong and durable.
I was most thankful that the stand snapped back strongly against the power bank when it wasn’t in use. The last thing you want is a stand that won’t stay put. Having the stand flop back and forth would have ruined it. As it is, however, it works well and stays in place.

Interestingly, the stand does make the whole power bank thicker, but not noticeably. Mophie’s power bank doesn’t feel thick. Of course, next to Anker’s latest 5K Nano Power Bank, Mophie’s is downright huge.
Beyond the stand, the Mophie Powerstation Wireless Slim 5K with Stand can also use its USB-C port to power other devices with a cable. The port can be used for power in or out.

While the wireless charging capability of the device tops out at 15W, the USB port can power devices up to 20W. If you have a cable or bring the included one with you, then this is also a charging option. When recharging the power bank, it can handle up to 20W itself.
More likely, the USB port can be used for an iPad or Mac, in a pinch, to give those devices a bit of juice. By the way, the silicone USB-C cable that comes with the 5K power bank feels incredible. It’s surprisingly nice for a toss-in cable.
On the bottom of the power bank is a button and light indicators to show how much battery is remaining. A nice touch, but pretty common among these kinds of gadgets.
Should You Buy Mophie Powerstation Wireless Slim 5K with Stand?

On one hand, the Mophie Powerstation Wireless Slim 5K with Stand is one of the most elegant power banks I’ve used. It feels polished, has a clever stand, and just works as advertised.
On the other hand, $70 for a 5,000mAh external battery is a lot of money and can’t do the latest Qi2 25W speeds. It’s not competitive with the landscape of similar products—even premium ones. The 10K model for $90 is probably a slightly better value, but not much and it’s bulkier to carry around.
If this design and functionality are calling to you, despite the price, then there’s no reason you shouldn’t buy this product. But if you can find it on sale, that would be the smartest buying decision.
