There have been no shortage of smartglasses this year, but one of the most unique pairs is also one of the more limited in terms of features. Perhaps that’s the point, but the Even Realities G2 smart glasses still manage to stand out in a crowded market.
They have a display and microphones but no speaker or camera, taking a more minimalist approach that lets the technology take a backseat to the lifestyle elements.

The result is a truly stylish pair of smartglasses you could (actually) wear all day, with a form and design that might not be distinguishable from regular glasses.
Priced at $599, the Even G2 smartglasses come with a Black Friday bundle deal that deserves being called out. Until December 26th, customers who purchase the new G2 Display Smart Glasses will receive the Even R1 Smart Ring and additional accessories for 50% off.
The bundle is especially worth calling out since the R1 smart ring is a companion piece for the glasses, acting as a discreet way to navigate a heads-up display. The ring is meant to be worn on your index finger on either hand, and then you use your thumb to tap, double-tap, and swipe up and down to navigate the interface on the glasses.
It’s not just a way to navigate the interface, however, as it acts as a smart ring to track health and fitness metrics, displaying results in the G2’s visual interface.

So what other features are you looking at with the Even G2 smartglasses? For starters, they start with the bright green display that occupies each lens. It empowers live translation, phone notifications, step-by-step navigation, quick notes, AI-based conversation enhancement, and a basic AI chatbot.
But the one feature creators will love is the teleprompter, which seamlessly displays scripts in the lens with no visual evidence to the audience. Beyond this, the Even G2 has a 75% larger menu that’s also around 30% brighter. They’re still very light for smartglasses, weighing just 36g (compared to 52g for Meta Ray-Ban Gen 2 and 69g for Meta Ray-Ban Display).
The battery is also better than some of the competitors, easily getting through 1-2 days on a single charge (compared to 2-8 hours for the various Meta products), and they can take a wide range of prescription lenses from -12 to +12 (compared to -4 to +4 for Meta Ray-Ban Display).

There are also two different styles, which come in three different colors each for a total of six builds — something that more smartglasses manufacturers will need to start paying more attention to as they get thinner and lighter.

How I rated this deal
I gave this deal a 3/5 since the discount isn’t actually on the glasses themselves, rather as a bundle with the companion pieces. You really have to dig the style of these glasses to spring for them, but the bundle with these accessories might be the push to seal the deal this Black Friday.
