Following the rollout of Android 16 to Pixel devices, Samsung is the next major brand to adopt the update through its skinned One UI 8. The update has now been shipped to numerous Galaxy smartphones and tablets, including the Galaxy S25, Galaxy Z foldables, and even mid-range models. Check the list to see if your device is included.

    One UI 8 Release Timeline

Samsung moved quickly after Google’s release of Android 16 for Pixel devices. The beta program began on May 28 with the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Ultra.

On September 15, Samsung concluded the beta for the Galaxy S25 series and announced that One UI 8 is officially rolling out to the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, S25 Edge, and S25 Ultra. The foldable Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and Galaxy A56 quickly followed.

The major firmware update has reached Galaxy S25 devices in countries where the beta program was available, including South Korea, the USA, the UK, Germany, France, and India. In October, several other models received the update, including the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S22, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and mid-range models like the Galaxy A55, A36, and A26.

Will Your Galaxy Device Get One UI 8?

Samsung has not released a complete list of Galaxy devices eligible for the Android 16 update. However, newer models typically benefit from extended support lasting five to six years, making them strong candidates for One UI 8. For older devices, eligibility can be estimated based on Samsung’s pledged software policy.

Samsung is dropping a few budget and mid-range models from the One UI 8 roster, based on their limited software support. These include the Galaxy A14, Galaxy A14 5G, and Galaxy A05s.

    Samsung Galaxy S Series

For flagship models, the Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra received One UI 7 as their final major update. However, they will continue to receive security patches. Interestingly, the Galaxy S21 FE is still eligible for One UI 8, which came as a surprise to many users.
