REDMAGIC has announced the launch of the 11 Pro, its latest gaming phone, and it comes with some pretty impressive upgrades over previous models that are sure to catch people’s attention. Mobile gaming has always been a niche market for smartphones. When it comes to gaming phones, they have always tried to push the limit on what kind of specs you could fathom would be available in a mobile device.
That isn’t changing, and REDMAGIC is truly pushing the limits here. It’s using Qualcomm’s latest high-performance chipset for what will undoubtedly be an amazing mobile gaming experience. That isn’t really surprising, however. REDMAGIC, ASUS, and other smartphones that target mobile gaming in one way or another always use high-end chipsets. What REDMAGIC is doing differently this year revolves around keeping the phone cool. In short, it’s using liquid cooling. This is the kind of thing you generally only see with gaming PCs. So, this alone differentiates it from other devices. It also has a huge battery capacity. This is going to make it possible to game for longer than ever, most likely.
The launch of the REDMAGIC 11 Pro is only in China, for now
REDMAGIC has confirmed the launch of the phone in China. This means you can’t buy it just yet if you’re a US consumer. That is, if you want one that’s designed for use on US networks. You could probably import the phone. However, that wouldn’t be recommended. Mostly because it probably wouldn’t be usable on the carrier you have. That being said, REDMAGIC will eventually launch a global version that will work in the US. It’s just a matter of time. In this case, it looks like the global launch is in 16 days, on November 3.
Launch regions aside, the REDMAGIC 11 Pro promises to be a beast of a mobile gaming device. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (a rumor from August said it may not have been a Qualcomm chip), it should have powerhouse performance that takes advantage of Qualcomm’s latest technological platform advancements, including more advanced ray tracing.
The phone also comes equipped with an 8,000mAh battery. It’s not clear just yet how much longer that will allow the phone to last if you’re spending hours playing games. However, this is the largest battery inside a gaming phone yet. In other words, it should be able to last quite a long time. On top of that, it supports 120W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. What that means is that when the battery is finally depleted, it’ll charge back up incredibly fast.
A first-of-its-kind gaming phone with liquid cooling
The real star of the show with this device is the liquid cooling. It’s one part of a whole, to be sure, but this isn’t something that’s ever been done in a phone before. So, it’ll be interesting to see how it handles internal temperatures compared to past devices that use fans and vapor chambers.
The REDMAGIC 11 Pro also pairs the liquid cooling with an air cooling system for a dual-cooling format that aims to keep the phone at optimal temperatures for sustained performance. The liquid cooling is an active system that uses a small pump to move liquid throughout the device. Additionally, REDMAGIC shows it off with a clear back so users can see how the system works as a bit of a neat visual flair. Mobile gamers can also expect other high-end specs like a 144Hz 2K display, and lots of RAM and storage options that go up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
