The Prime Video top 10 is a solid starting point when you’re looking for something to watch on the Amazon-owned streaming service. Of course, a flick securing a high spot in the rotating ranking is not a guarantee of quality, but it does give you an idea what movies are proving popular.

I comb through the top 10 every week to pick out the current inclusions most worth watching. I’ll be honest, today’s Prime Video top 10 isn’t the strongest I’ve ever seen, but I’ve found a trio of flicks you should consider, even if they come with some significant caveats. These picks are based on the Prime Video top 10 as of Monday, November 17, and now let’s dive in.

Best movies in the Prime Video top 10

    ‘Playdate’ (2025)

As expected, Prime Video’s latest tentpole action-comedy original has gone straight to No. 1, and it’s fair to say that critics haven’t been especially kind to this Kevin James-fronted flick. “Playdate” holds a miserable 17% score on Rotten Tomatoes, but if you’re looking for a summer blockbuster released in the fall season, and you keep your expectations very firmly in check, then you might be able to have some fun with this cookie-cutter buddy movie.

    You may like

“Playdate” sees recently laid-off accountant and stay-at-home dad Brian (Kevin James) agree to a playdate with another dad and son duo, Jeff (Alan Ritchson) and CJ (Banks Pierce). The get-together starts pretty raucously and only gets more chaotic when mercenaries ambush the foursome. It turns out that Jeff is hiding some big secrets. Now suburban dad Brian must become an action hero to protect his son and save the day.

‘The Woman in the Yard’ (2025)

    Watch On

“The Woman in the Yard” is a psychological horror movie that frustrated me when I caught it in theaters in the spring. Its core premise is delightfully spooky, and there’s just enough potential on screen for me to feel that it could have been something great. Unfortunately, an ill-judged conclusion and a refusal to do anything fresh with its promising components result in it being little more than a bland horror fodder. Still, if you’re okay with cheap jump scares, it’s got plenty of those.

Ramona (Danielle Deadwyler) is a recently widowed mother trying to care for her two children in their rural farmhouse. The situation is tense enough, but when a mysterious woman dressed all in black appears on their front lawn and warns, “today’s the day,” a nightmare situation begins. Trapped in the house, the sinister woman moves ever closer to the front door, and Ramona’s psyche begins to crack as she recalls dark memories.

    ‘Migration’ (2023)

    Watch On

The above two picks are “recommended” with some pretty significant caveats, but at least “Migration” is one that I can suggest you watch without so much baggage. This animated adventure from Illumination is a colorful comedy that is perfect for the whole family. Plus, with Thanksgiving less than two weeks away, it’s not a surprise to see that Prime Video viewers are turning to this very seasonal-appropriate movie right now. It’s fun for the fall.

In “Migration,” a family of ducks living in New England decides to escape the cold seasonal weather by migrating to Jamaica. However, the first-time trip proves rather more difficult than expected, and they’re blown off course, ending up in the hustle and bustle of New York City. Stranded in this unfamiliar place, they meet new friends and face a few hurdles along the way. With pleasant comedy, lots of adventure and some strong voice performances from a talented cast, “Migration” doesn’t break new ground, but it’s lovable, easy entertainment.
