Panasonic is launching a new OLED TV, the Z8BA, featuring some of the most advanced technologies on the market, all built into a 77-inch screen.

Mirroring the Panasonic Z95B OLED TV, which launched earlier this year, the new Z8BA utilizes the HCX Pro AI processor MK II for enhanced upscaling and picture performance. It also comes equipped with Dolby Vision support and an ATSC 3.0 tuner for access to Nextgen TV broadcasts.

The Z8BA launches for pre-sale starting on October 27 and will only be available in a 77-inch screen size for $2,499 at select retailers, including Amazon.

Panasonic’s new Z8BA OLED TV is a true stunner. It’s built on a 144Hz refresh rate with a sophisticated speaker system, just like its Z95B counterpart. The OLED TV also supports Dolby Atmos and uses 360 Soundscape Pro to deliver bombastic experiences as well as crystal clear dialogue.

The Panasonic Z8BA OLED TV is also built to deliver exceptional gaming performance. It leverages Fire TV, netting you access to cloud gaming services like Luna, Game Pass, and more. Beyond this, it also has a fantastic True Game Mode that elevates the experience with enhanced grayscale settings and white balance.

In our labs, the Panasonic Z95B tested with a 12.7ms input latency, which isn’t the fastest by any stretch, but is still great for most games. We’ll have to get the Z8BA in for testing to further analyze its gaming chops, but it could still prove to be one of the best gaming TVs, given its size.

It’s unclear why Panasonic is launching its newest OLED TV in just a 77-inch screen size, but big-screen sets are all the rage these days. Last year, Panasonic launched the Z85A OLED TV in the middle of its 2024 range, offering a cheaper price than the flagship Z95A, which remains one of its best TVs.

Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips.

We’ll also have to see where the Z8BA OLED TV stands against the competition. Panasonic makes some incredible screens, but the LG C5 OLED and Samsung S90F OLED both offer the best value in the market for the price, and will only get better as we move into the sales season and Black Friday.

The 77-inch Panasonic Z8BA OLED TV will go on presale starting October 27 for $2,499 on Amazon, and will officially launch in mid-November. Panasonic explained to Tom’s Guide in an email that pricing could change “with possible further discounts during Black Friday and Cyber Monday.”
