Samsung has pulled the plug on software support for four of its mid-range phones: the Galaxy A03s, Galaxy A52s, Galaxy F42 5G, and Galaxy M32 5G.

If you own one of these, it means no more regular security updates from now on.

The South Korean tech giant has been one of the few Android brands that offered extended software support when it comes to keeping phones updated. It has promised four years of security updates and three major OS upgrades for most of its lineup. However, the clock’s run out for these models, all of which launched between August and September 2021.

Major Android updates already stopped for these devices a while back, but Samsung kept pushing out security patches until now.

As of October 2025, these phones are no longer listed on Samsung’s official update tracker. So, no more bug fixes, no performance tweaks, and no security updates will be released.

That doesn’t mean your phone will stop working overnight. But with no more security updates, it’ll get riskier to keep using it. There’s a risk of exposure to online threats that range from malware, hacks and other harmful online threats over time.

If you’re using one of the older models, this could be the perfect time to upgrade. Samsung has already rolled out newer alternatives such as the Galaxy A07, Galaxy F56, and Galaxy M36. They come with faster processors, improved cameras, and better update support.

If Galaxy A52s owners are looking for a similar experience, they can check out our guide to the best mid-range phones, which includes the Galaxy A56.

Samsung is also rolling out its next-generation One UI 7 right now, with some pretty smart upgrades to camera and battery performance thanks to AI. Upgrading means you’ll get all the new stuff, and you’ll stay protected and up to date in the Galaxy ecosystem.
