The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is rumored to arrive earlier than its predecessor did. To recall, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra went official in February this year. The phone may debut before the end of this year in China, and eventually expand to more regions globally in Q1 2026. As we inch closer to the year-end, a new leak sheds light on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra launch date.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra launch date leaks
Weibo leaker Wisdom Pikachu claims that Xiaomi will start taking bookings for the Xiaomi 17 Ultra on December 15th. This will apparently go on up until December 25th. This led to speculations that the phone’s announcement may happen on December 26th. That’s well in the “before the end of this year” rumored timeline.
Furthermore, Xiaomi 17 Ultra will reportedly cost the same as the Xiaomi 15 Ultra in China. We can’t, however, say if that’ll be the case internationally. Anyway, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra had a starting price of 6,499 Yuan (~$920) for the base 12GB/256GB version.
The phone may cost the same as its predecessor
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s key highlight will reportedly be its 1-inch main camera sensor. There will be several Leica-based imaging functionalities to enhance the camera experience. One among them is apparently the Leica coating, which could be an alternative to the Huawei multispectral camera technology.
However, the phone will see a downgrade over its predecessor. It may get a triple camera setup, compared to the quad setup from the predecessor. The alleged live images and the photography kit images suggest this. The company will make up for this with a premium performance, courtesy of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. Rest, the phone may get a high-quality AMOLED display, high refresh rate, Android 16-based HyperOS 3 skin, and a large battery with ultra-fast charging support.
