Meta’s Quest 3S is a great entry point into the world of virtual reality. It’s better than the Quest 2, introducing several improvements to “performance, capabilities, and user experience,” according to ZDNET managing editor Kerry Wan, who reviewed the device in 2024. And, importantly, it’s cheaper than the $500 Quest 3 — especially since Amazon is offering a great deal on the headset in the lead-up to Black Friday.

What’s great about the Meta Quest 3S is that it takes cues from the older generation and the Quest 3, blending them together admirably. For example, it provides the same level of comfort as the Quest 2. It’s made primarily of hard plastic and fabric, weighing approximately 514 grams. Its flexible, Y-shaped head strap allows for free movement while sitting securely on your head. The Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset allows the device to load apps faster than its predecessor, stable frame rates, and a two-hour battery life.
