Meta has announced that it is introducing a new tool intended to fix the broken accounts support on both Facebook and Instagram. Earlier, it was no less than a challenge for the users to recover hacked profiles or reach a human when something went wrong. The tech giant adds that the updated system will finally fix the long-standing frustration.

Meta, in its latest report, confirms that it has redesigned its support experience to create a single place for users to report issues, find guidance, and search for solutions. The unified hub will appear on both Instagram and Facebook. The system also uses AI-powered search to deliver faster and more accurate answers.

The firm has also admitted that the past support has been unreliable and says these updates aim to create clearer, more dependable pathways to help. Alongside this, the company is also testing an AI-assistant on Facebook. It will provide immediate and personalized support for tasks like account recovery and adjusting settings. The company may expand the testing to its other social media apps once the results are evaluated.

The new update aims to address security and reported concerns

Meta says that it wants to turn support into an always available resource rather than a slow or inconsistent process. The AI will serve as a gateway to support and is designed to handle much of the interaction. However, the firm has not ruled out human involvement when needed. Interestingly, the giant reports a more than 30 percent reduction in new hacked accounts over the last year. It credits advancing AI that monitors unusual behavior, blocks suspicious logins, and flags accounts at risk.

AI has been integrated into the account recovery process as well. The assistant will provide users with clearer steps, send warnings about risky activity, and recognize trusted devices more reliably. An optional selfie video authentication method has been added as another route for confirming identity when recovering access.
