One UI 8 roll out is almost complete. The update brings exciting new features and improvements to eligible Samsung Galaxy devices. Wondering if your phone or tablet made the cut? Dive into our comprehensive list to see if device is on the list.

Samsung is one of the major Android brands to accelerate its Android 16 release, which is arriving as One UI 8. This launch follows several months of beta testing. After debuting on the Galaxy S25 series, the major update is now reaching a wider range of Galaxy smartphones and tablets.

    One UI 8 Release Timeline

One UI 8 Release Timeline: Samsung moved quickly following Google’s release of Android 16 to Pixel devices. The beta program began on May 28 with the Galaxy S25 (review) and Galaxy S25 Ultra, with other devices—including the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6—soon following suit.

On September 15, Samsung concluded the beta for the Galaxy S25 series and announced that One UI 8 was officially rolling out to the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, S25 Edge, and S25 Ultra. The update arrived first in key markets like South Korea, the USA, and India before expanding to other regions.

The firmware rollout continued to numerous older Galaxy devices from late September through October. By November, several additional models received the update, including the Galaxy S22, Galaxy A06, Galaxy A07, and the Galaxy Tab A11 and Tab A11+.

Will Your Galaxy Device Get One UI 8?

Alongside the One UI 8 launch, Samsung published a list of devices slated to receive the update, noting that the schedule may vary by region and model.

Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 FE will receive One UI 8 as their final major OS update. The same applies to mid-range models released in 2022, such as the Galaxy A73, A53, and A33. Newer devices generally benefit from extended support lasting five to six years, making them guaranteed candidates for One UI 8.

Regarding newer mid-range devices, Samsung is also extending security update support for models such as the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A36, and the Galaxy Tab S10 FE.

    Samsung Galaxy A Series

Samsung is dropping a few budget and mid-range models from the One UI 8 roster, based on their limited software support. These include the Galaxy A14, Galaxy A14 5G, and Galaxy A05s.

    Samsung Galaxy S Series

For flagship models, the Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra received One UI 7 as their final major update. However, they will continue to receive security patches. Interestingly, the Galaxy S21 FE is still eligible for One UI 8, which came as a surprise to many users.

    Samsung Galaxy Z Series

Notably absent from the One UI 8 update list are the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. Both devices will end their major update cycle with One UI 7, although they may continue to receive security patches for a limited time.
