With Vince Gilligan’s “Breaking Bad” universe put to bed following the conclusion of “Better Call Saul,” all eyes are on what the creator of two of TV’s GOATs did next, and by the looks of it, we’re headed in a very different direction. Here’s how to watch “Pluribus” online and from anywhere with a VPN – and potentially for free.
Both Gilligan and Apple are remaining tight-lipped over exactly what to expect from “Pluribus,” but judging by the trailer, we’re in for somewhat of a sci-fi conspiracy thriller, closer to the streamer’s smash hit “Severance” than the ABQ trilogy.
It’s worth remembering though, that while Gilligan is best known for his epic crime saga, the showrunner actually made his name as a writer and producer on “The X-Files,” even co-creating its spin-off series “The Lone Gunmen,” so he certainly has form in the shady sci-fi genre.
And while “Pluribus” certainly looks like a bit of a pivot from the adventures of Walter White, Jesse Pinkman and Saul Goodman, all of Gilligan’s hallmarks are present, from the unique shot composition to the mundane close-ups and the Albuquerque setting. And of course, “Better Call Saul’s” outstanding Rhea Seehorn takes the lead role as Carol, a historical romance author whose miserable disposition may be the answer to the ongoing happiness epidemic.
Mysterious? Yes, but with Seehorn and Gilligan together again, expectations are high. Read on to find out how to watch “Pluribus” online and from anywhere.
