There’s something for everyone, too. By my count, 17 new and returning series are part of this HBO Max sizzle reel and, in the majority of cases, the footage that makes up said video is the first visual tease we’ve seen for them.

Take Lanterns, the next DC Universe (DCU) TV show that’s set to arrive sometime in mid-2026 and is one of my most anticipated shows of the next 12 months, for instance.
Until today (December 12), a single image is all we’ve had to work with – in an official capacity, anyway – for the DCU Chapter One project. Thanks to the above trailer, though, we can finally see we’ve not only seen the Green Lantern TV show’s first footage, but also Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart and Kyle Chandler’s Hal Jordan in action for the first time.
With Supergirl‘s first trailer taking flight yesterday (December 11) and now Lanterns‘ first official footage being unveiled, DC devotees have certainly feasted well over the last 24 hours. Want to know more about these projects? Check out my Supergirl hub and Lanterns guide for more details.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 1 will air in January (Image credit: HBO)
To focus solely on DC Studios’ next two productions, however, would do a disservice to the other great HBO TV shows scheduled for 2026.
Indeed, from the second seasons of the multi-award-nominated medical drama The Pitt and sci-fi series Dune: Prophecy, to financial thriller Industry‘s fourth outing and comedy-drama Hacks‘ fifth chapter, there’ll be something for everyone to enjoy in the months ahead. Add in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms‘ debut season and House of the Dragon season 3 – that pair being the Game of Thrones prequels that HBO has made thus far – and high fantasy lovers haven’t been overlooked, either.
Here’s a full rundown of the series – which will air on Sky/Now TV in the UK, JioHotstar in India, Crave in Canada, and Neon in New Zealand – that were shown off in the above teaser. Confirmed release dates and windows that have been announced so far are also included:
- The Pitt season 2 – January 8
- Industry season 4 – January 11
- A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 1 – January 18
- The Comeback season 3 – March
- Rooster – March
- Euphoria season 3 – April
- House of the Dragon season 3 – mid-2026
- Lanterns – mid-2026
- DTF St. Louis – TBA
- Dune: Prophecy season 2 – TBA
- The Gilded Age season 4 – TBA
- Hacks season 5 – TBA

HBO Max’s 2026 preview video lands just one week after Netflix agreed a $82.7 billion deal to buy Warner Bros. and its streaming business. However, Netflix has indicated HBO Max will continue to sit independently on its own hugely popular streamer if the buyout is approved by the US Congress and other global governmental institutions.
