    TL;DR

    • The timer, stopwatch, and media controls now work with AOD on Pixel Watches.
    • The update appears to be rolling out with Google Clock version 6.11.

Google has started rolling out an update for the Pixel Watches. This latest update appears to bring always-on support for more experiences.

Don’t want to miss the best from Android Authority?

We’ve been expecting a redesigned always-on display (AOD) via Wear OS 6 since July, and it looks like we’re finally starting to see that. On Google Clock version 6.11, which is not widely available yet, we’re starting to see changes for always-on display (AOD). Specifically, the timer, stopwatch, and media controls now work with the feature.

Typically, when you use the timer, you will see a countdown ring encircling the time and buttons. AOD removes this countdown ring, so all that’s left are the time and buttons. Speaking of the time, AOD also removes the digits for the seconds remaining and replaces them with dashes. Additionally, the buttons appear as mere outlines, whereas they were previously solid colors.

The stopwatch has received similar treatment, with the countdown ring and increment markers gone with AOD. And the buttons also share the same outline design. There’s a slight difference here in that you can still see the digits for seconds. However, the digits for milliseconds have been replaced by dashes.

As you can see in the image above, AOD media controls have also joined the party. Every button has the same outline design as the timer and stopwatch.

It appears several Pixel Watch owners are seeing this update on Reddit. Are you seeing this update yet on your smartwatch? Let us know in the comments below.
