The new JUNG KNX DALI-2 actuator Colour 4-gang controls up to 128 DALI devices across four separately controllable DALI lines. This Secure-capable actuator enables flexible lighting scenarios and bridges the gap between the KNX dimming actuator and the KNX DALI gateway. The four-channel multi-master device is the ideal solution for modernising existing 1–10 V installations. It allows users to benefit from DALI features such as Tunable White, RGB and RGBW, while also taking advantage of the security and flexibility of KNX Data Secure. The KNX DALI-2 actuator is particularly beneficial in retrofit projects, as it efficiently integrates existing infrastructure while expanding the possibilities of modern lighting control.
The actuator controls up to four DALI lines with a total of 128 devices. Acting as an interface between the KNX and DALI systems, it receives all DALI telegrams and can visualise them in the KNX environment – for example, using the JUNG Smart Visu Server. This simplifies commissioning and operation: users can diagnose and parameterise connected DALI devices without the need to initialise each DALI server individually. If required, scene values or staircase lighting functions can be switched directly in ETS, allowing for live adjustments without interrupting system operation.
In educational facilities, the JUNG KNX DALI-2 actuator enables time-efficient and energy-saving lighting control. The actuator’s four outputs can be used to group several classrooms, each with individually controllable lighting zones. Local control remains available in each classroom, while central management is handled via KNX visualisation. For example, a building manager or janitor can switch lights on before lessons and off afterwards using a tablet – helping to avoid unnecessary energy consumption. Additionally, maintenance requirements are automatically transmitted to the KNX system via runtime counters and displayed on the screen. This allows facility staff to respond quickly and maintain optimal system performance.
