Not very long ago, Sony had debuted its Xperia 10 VII — a midrange phone, which came with a notable new design revamp for the camera island. A new leak, however, already indicates its successor’s regional variants and what to expect from Sony Xperia 2026 phones.
While Sony’s flagship Xperia 1 VIII is the most anticipated flagship model from the company, new evidence notes that there is more to expect, meaning another mid-range phone, likely the Xperia 10 VIII. It appears Sony is following a similar tradition as of this year, where it launched the premium Xperia 1 VII next to the Xperia 10 VII.
New leak reveals model numbers of Sony Xperia 2026 models
The Walkman Blog post has managed to get the model numbers (through a SIM database) of upcoming Xperia smartphones. It indicates a total of six units, which are presumably regional variants of the Xperia 10 VIII. The model numbers include PM-1530-BV, PM-1531-BV, PM-1532-BV, PM-1533-BV, PM-1534-BV, and PM-1555-BV.
The spotted models don’t significantly give us what to expect from the anticipated mid-range phone. It surely indicates there is another model in the pipeline next to the Xperia 1 VIII. The SIM database also reveals a fourth possible variant of the Xperia 1 VIII, which is likely a Japanese model.
Both models might not launch until next year. Meanwhile, the flagship Xperia 1 VIII is rumored to carry the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 5 chipset. And, the Xperia 10 VIII will likely opt for the Snapdragon 6 series or a similar chip, taking the 10 VII into consideration, which came with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SoC.
The Xperia 10 VII, on the other hand, recently started receiving the Android 16 update with regions including Europe and Japan. Not just the newly launched phones, but Sony has also started pushing the Android 16 update to its previously released phones, including the Xperia 1 VI and Xperia 1 VII, over the past couple of months.
