Dandadan season 3 has officially entered production, thanks to confirmation from the show’s official Twitter/X account on September 18, 2025 (featured above).
Posted in Japanese, it roughly translates to: “Season 3 production confirmed. Momo, Okarun, and Turbo Granny, let’s celebrate!”
Season 1 premiered in October 2024, season 2 in July 2025, so for season 3, I’d predict a mid-to-late 2026 release date. But, as soon as we hear more, we’ll be sure to update here.
Dandadan season 3: has a trailer been released?
There’s no trailer yet, but we’ll update here when it drops (Image credit: Netflix)
Unfortunately, there’s no trailer for Dandadan season 3 and that’ll most likely be because the show only entered back into production in September 2025.
In the lead up to Dandadan season 2, several trailers were released across Crunchyroll and Netflix Anime’s YouTube channels. Despite its July 2025 release, the trailers started as far back as December 2024 and led up to its eventual premiere.
So, early 2026 seems most likely for a season 3 trailer of some kind, but we’ll drop any official trailers here as soon as they arrive.

Dandadan season 3: predicted cast
We’d predict the main cast to return for season 3 (Image credit: Science Saru)
There’s been no official news on the Dandadan season 3 cast yet, aside from the season 3 production announcement paying reference to Momo, Okarun and Turbo Granny, but I’d predict the following characters to return:
- Shion Wakayama as Momo Ayase
- Natsuki Hanae as Ken ‘Okarun; Takakura
- Mayumi Tanaka as Turbo Granny
- Nana Mizuki as Seiko Ayase
- Kaito Ishikawa as Jin Jiji Enjoji
- Ayane Sakura as Aira Shiratori
Alongside the Japanese voice actors, I’d imagine the English dubs to also reprise their roles having voiced the characters in every episode so far. These include Abby Trott as Momo, A.J. Beckles as Okarun, Barbara Goodson as Turbo Granny, Kari Wahlgren as Seiko, Aleks Le as Jiji and Lisa Reimold as Aira.
Dandadan season 3: story synopsis and rumors
High school life is a lot harder with evil spirits and aliens (Image credit: Science Saru)
Full spoilers for Dandadan seasons 1 and 2 to follow.
There’s no official news on what the Dandadan season 3 plot will entail, but I imagine it’ll put more yōkai and alien fighting enjoyed in the previous two seasons at the front and center.
If you’re yet to watch, the show follows high schoolers, Momo and Okarun, as they build an unusual friendship based on pretty different views. Momo believes in the yōkai, supernatural entities, which her grandmother Seiko has taught her about, but not aliens. Okarun, on the other hand, believes in aliens, but not yōkai.
It quickly becomes apparent that they’re both right… and wrong, as aliens and yōkai begin to intertwine themselves in their lives. Momo given latent psychic abilities by aliens and Okarun possessed by a yōkai called Turbo Granny, a scary looking elderly woman who is then forced to inhabit a maneki-neko doll.
Undoubtedly more action to come in Dandadan season 3 (Image credit: Netflix)
In true manga fashion, it’s a wildly dynamic and mind-bogglingly zany tale that has left Momo and Okarun blending with other high school classmates to embark on weird and wonderful missions. And through it all both yōkai and aliens continue to invade their lives. Throw in a bit of romantic tension between Momo and Okarun and you’ve got yourself a well-rounded and hearty tale.
Considering it follows Yukinobu Tatsu’s famed series, of which new chapters are still being released, there’s plenty to go on. And, if you’re a fan of the manga, you might have a good idea of where Dandadan season 3 will go next.
Without giving too much away, Dandadan is split into several story arcs, of which Turbo Granny, Acrobatic Silky, and Serpo were all explored in season 1. In season 2, Cursed House, Evil Eye and Kaiju then followed.
For Dandadan season 3 then, I’d predict the Space Globalists, Onbusuman and Danmara arcs to be covered next, which would introduce new characters including a dangerous yōkai called Reiko Kashima, a mysterious new teacher, Sanjome, and a possessed young man called Unji Zuma. But if you’re not reading the manga ahead, we’ll leave the full plot under wraps.
Will there be more seasons of Dandadan?
No news on Dandadan season 4 just yet (Image credit: Netflix)
Given that Dandadan season 3 was renewed alongside the season 2 finale, I imagine we’ll have to wait a little while longer to find out whether a season 4 is on the cards.
If, and it’s a big if since there’s been no official confirmation, the plot of season 3 follows the story arcs as suggested above, there’s still some more arcs left over that could form a season 4 and beyond.
For now though, there’s no official news about future seasons of Dandadan. But, as one of the best anime shows on Netflix, making top-watched lists and bringing in millions of views (as per Collider), it seems pretty likely season 3 won’t be the last of Momo and Okarun’s story. But, we’ll have to wait and see.
