Jack Wallen / Elyse Betters Picaro / ZDNETFollow ZDNET: Add us as a preferred source on Google.ZDNET’s key takeawaysBoth BunsenLabs Boron and Bohdi Linux are outstanding distributions. These distros take advantage of similar layouts, but are quite different.Neither distro is an ideal choice for new Linux users. One of the many things I love about the Linux operating system is the vast array of choices available. Microsoft’s Copilot has quietly appeared on LG webOS TVs, and many owners only noticed after it was already there. The issue first came up when a Reddit user shared screenshots showing a Microsoft Copilot tile on their LG TV home screen after a recent webOS update. The post spread quickly, and other LG TV owners confirmed they were seeing the same thing. As more reports appeared, it became clear this is not a bug limited to one model. This move matches LG’s earlier plans to integrate Copilot into its TV software, especially for newer versions of webOS. LG’s own documentation…
A Louisiana law that would have required social media platforms to verify the ages of their users has been blocked by a judge. The law, known as the Secure Online Child Interaction and Age Limitation, was passed in 2023 and required Meta, Reddit, Snap, YouTube Discord and others to implement age verification and parental control features. The ruling came just days before the law, which technically took effect over the summer, would have started to be enforced. In his ruling, Judge John W. deGravelles wrote that the law’s “age-verification and parental-consent requirements are both over- and under-inclusive,” and that its definition…

You can wheel the lightweight machine into any room, place the desk attachment across the handrail, and get to working and walking. The desk’s height won’t accommodate everyone—it was lower than I’d like, and I’m 5’4”. But for quick, basic work like answering emails or sitting in on a meeting, it got the job done just fine. The 3-in-1 Treadmill gets its name from its ability to serve as a walking pad (with the rail down, the speed tops out at…
But until last week, there were no international controls in place to regulate trade in these species despite growing demand for their livers. That has now changed through the latest decisions adopted at CITES, which Warwick said mark a turning point in marine conservation. For much of its 50-year history, the convention focused on protecting iconic land species like elephants, rhinos, primates, and parrots, or charismatic marine species like sea turtles, Warwick said. By 1981, CITES had imposed an international ban on all international trade of sea turtles, which Warwick credited for helping some species make remarkable comebacks in the…

But here we are, at a time when gaming laptop affordability is becoming a bit of…
