Dreame Aqua10 Ultra: Two-minute reviewInnovation in the world of robot vacuum cleaners is evolving by leaps and bounds – you only have to look at the Dreame Matrix10 Ultra and the Ecovacs Deebot X11 OmniCyclone to see how far we’ve come. While the Dreame Aqua10 Ultra isn’t so groundbreaking, it still boasts industry-leading vacuum suction (30,000Pa) and features I’ve not seen anywhere else – like all brushes getting raised…

ZDNET’s key takeaways AI models follow certain structural rules when generating text. This can make it easier to identify their writing. They tend towards contrasts, for example: “It’s not X — it’s Y.”The past few years have seen a flood of AI-generated text wash over the internet. As the models behind this text improve, so too does their ability to imitate the intricacies of human speech; at the same time, our methods for detecting it have been improving, and there’s been an active online dialogue about some of the most common quirks…

Stephen Schenck / Android AuthorityTL;DR The Android TV interface has removed the Discover tab and replaced it with a new “Free” tab. As the name suggests, the new “Free” tab offers free movies, TV shows, and live channels in one convenient location. We spotted the change on an old Android TV projector, but it’s something newer Android TV devices are either already seeing or will receive soon. The contents of the outgoing Discover tab, i.e., recommendations and watchlist, have been rolled into the Home tab. Google has effectively killed off the Discover tab on the Android TV interface. In place…

Hello and welcome to 2025’s last issue of Regulator. If you’re not a Verge subscriber, get off the 2026 naughty list by signing up here. And if you’re a Verge subscriber — well, dang, that’s really nice of you. Last week, I appeared on The Brian Lehrer Show on WNYC to talk about my reporting on President Donald Trump’s attempt to ban states from making their own AI laws. I don’t often get to appear on radio, but I love doing it for one unique reason. On cable news, you have 90 seconds to make your point and that’s all…
The Trump administration is launching an American “Tech Force,” a cross-government early career program mean to “recruit top technologists to modernize the federal government,” according to a press release by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). As part of the initiative, government agencies will be bringing in an initial cohort of 1,000 early career technologists who will be hired into government agencies to work one or two year-long fellowships. OPM is aiming for around 30 to 40 Tech Force fellows at most large agencies. On top of that, the government will also be hiring a total of 500 project management…
Even three years after the generative AI boom started, most AI startups are still making money by selling to businesses, not individual consumers. Although consumers quickly adopted general-purpose LLMs like ChatGPT, most specialized consumer GenAI applications have yet to resonate. “A lot of early AI applications around video, audio, and photo were super cool,” said Chi-Hua Chien, co-founder and managing partner at Goodwater Capital, onstage at TechCrunch’s StrictlyVC event in early December. “But then Sora and Nano Banana came out, and the Chinese open sourced their video models. And so, a lot of those opportunities disappeared.” Chien compares some of…

Oura dropped a new smart ring, Apple updated every Apple Watch model in the lineup, Samsung brought back the clicky bezel for its flagship Galaxy Watch and lots of revolutionary new safety tools debuted—including hypertension detection (Apple) and loss of pulse detection (Google). So, what does 2026 have in store for wearable devices? It’s time for me to once again gaze into the consumer tech crystal ball (I just updated the firmware) and make predictions for the year ahead. With that in mind, here are the potential product drops I’m most excited for in…

If you don’t like a distribution, find another one. If the desktop environment you’re using doesn’t suit your style or needs, consider installing a different one. If you need something faster, try a lightweight distribution.Given the…
