Aqara has started rolling out Siri voice control and AirPlay integration to its Panel Hub S1 Plus, following an earlier announcement made at IFA this year. The update, first spotted by a Reddit user in the SEA/ME region, brings the device in line with features previously enabled on products like Ecobee’s Thermostat Premium.
Although Aqara initially stated the firmware was still pending, the wider rollout now appears to be underway, beginning with EU users. The new firmware version, 4.5.1, is updating devices from the earlier 4.3.1 release.
With the update, the S1 Plus can respond to “Hey Siri” commands through its built-in microphones. The panel hub captures the voice request and relays it to a HomePod or HomePod mini for processing, with responses played back through the hub’s speaker.
Users can now enable or disable a suite of features via Apple Home, including:
- Siri voice control
- AirPlay streaming (Beta)
- Intercom
- Doorbell chime
AirPlay support allows basic audio playback from Apple devices, though the hub’s small speakers limit it to light use. The new intercom capability enables two-way audio between the panel hub and other AirPlay-enabled speakers, while timers and alarms can also be managed directly through the interface. The updated doorbell chime feature expands compatibility to third-party video doorbells, in addition to Aqara’s own models like the G410.
The update also refines the Panel Hub S1 Plus’s appearance in Apple Home. Previously shown as multiple tiles, the device now appears as a single tile displaying a hub/bridge icon. Users can access alarm controls, wired switches, timers, and settings—including the six programmable buttons—from this unified interface.
The rollout is expected to continue gradually across regions as Aqara expands support for the new firmware.
