One of the best Android call recorders is already available on your phone—no separate app is necessary. Recording calls on Samsung and Pixel phones using the built-in method is far easier and safer than a dedicated app.

However, third-party call recorder apps are another option if you’re interested in a feature that’s unavailable from your phone maker. Some call recorder apps let you log calls in other messaging apps and enable extras like cloud backup or password protection.

Most apps that record calls on Android have been blocked from the Play Store following a policy change in 2022. This has forced many apps to offer workarounds, so you’ll need to know how to install APK files to use these apps.

Additionally, before you record a call, check the laws in your country or state. Some places require you to reveal to the other party that the call is being recorded.

Google’s Phone app is the best Android call recorder for one simple reason: it just works. No extra apps are required to record calls, which can’t be said for any of the other options in this list.

It’s also ad-free and can be configured to always record calls from specific contacts or unknown numbers.

To start a recording on your Pixel phone during a call, tap Call Assist > Call Recording. If you’re not using a Pixel, tap Record.

    What We Like

    • High quality recordings.

    • Security feature to keep recordings private.

    • Supports geo-tagging recordings.

    • Can use for free (with ads).

    • Inexpensive annual subscription.

Use this app to record incoming and outgoing calls with your phone and also from a variety of apps you may have installed, including Skype, Viber, Facebook, WhatsApp, IMO, Line, Slack, and Telegram. Choose which contacts to record and exclude those you don’t need automatically.

Cube ACR is free to use for the basic features, and a premium option is available for additional abilities like cloud backup, bookmarking, and PIN protection.

Use this app to record incoming and outgoing calls automatically. There’s no need to manually start and stop the operation. After you save your recordings in MP3 format on your phone or an SD card, you can organize the files by time, name, or date. Choose a recording from the list, then use the action buttons to save or share the file.

Like some of the others listed here, this app allows you to record incoming and outgoing calls automatically. Once you have the recordings, you can listen to them from within the app, store them on an SD card, or send them to other people using third-party apps.

What makes this app unique is its support for older versions of Android. Give this one a try if your phone won’t install the other apps covered above.
