As Beats has revived the Beats Fit Pro as Powerbeats Fit, we’re keen to see how the workout buds compare to the existing Powerbeats Pro 2.
Beats explains that by reintroducing the Beats Fit Pro as Powerbeats Fit, this “unifies” its lineup and gives “customers a clearer choice between two distinct, fitness-first form factors”. But how does the Powerbeats Fit compare to the Powerbeats Pro 2?
Ahead of our review of the Powerbeats Fit, we’ve compared its specs to the Powerbeats Pro 2 and highlighted the key differences, alongside any noteworthy similarities below.

Price and availability
The Powerbeats Fit earbuds are available now in a choice of four colours, Jet Black, Gravel Gray, Spark Orange, and Power Pink for, all with an RRP of £199.95 / $199.99.

While the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 have a higher RRP of £249.99 / $249.99, and as they were released earlier in 2025, it is possible to find the earbuds on sale, especially during shopping events such as Prime Day or Black Friday.
Powerbeats Pro 2 offers up to 45 hours of battery life
Beats promises that the Powerbeats Pro 2 should offer up to a whopping 45 hours of battery life on a single charge with ANC switched off, while the Powerbeats Fit provides up to 30 hours. As we’re yet to review the Powerbeats Fit, we can’t currently verify these claims.
However, we were impressed with the Powerbeats Pro 2’s battery life and found that the earbuds more or less matched Beats’ claims. We also found during our testing that with ANC enabled, the Powerbeats Pro 2 provided around ten hours of battery life, which actually surpasses Beats’ claims of eight hours.

Powerbeats Pro 2 runs on Apple’s H2 chip
The Powerbeats Pro 2, like the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 series, run on Apple’s H2 chip. Apple’s latest audio chip, H2 enables the Powerbeats Pro 2’s noise cancelling, battery life, sound profile and even its built-in heart-rate monitor.
On the other hand, the Powerbeats Fit are powered by Apple’s slightly older H1 chip instead, which was first seen with the original AirPods. Although H1 may feel outdated, Beats explains that it still enables iOS users to benefit from one-touch pairing, switching between devices, Audio Sharing and more.

Despite running on an older chip, it’s worth noting the Powerbeats Fit and the Powerbeats Pro 2 are also equipped with active noise cancellation and transparency modes too.
It’s worth noting here that despite the Apple-powered chip, both the Powerbeats Fit and Powerbeats Pro 2 can be paired with Android devices. You’ll just need to download the Beats app to make use of features such as one-touch pairing and access to Find My Beats.
Powerbeats Pro 2 have earhooks
Visually, the main difference between the Powerbeats Fit and Pro 2 earbuds is that the latter are equipped with earhooks. Beats state that the ear hook is built with a “super-light nickel-titanium alloy” that offers shape memory and flexibility too.

During our review process, we found the Powerbeats Pro 2 were stable and comfortable, although slightly tricky to put on.
In lieu of hooks, the Powerbeats Fit buds each sport wing tips instead. Beats explains that to wear the buds correctly, you simply tuck the wing tip under the ridge of your upper ear to lock it in place, so you shouldn’t have to worry about the bud falling out during a workout.

Powerbeats Pro 2 have a heart rate monitor
The Powerbeats Pro 2 are the first product by Beats to feature heart-rate monitoring for workouts. Designed with athletes in mind, the Powerbeats Pro 2 are fitted with optical sensors that promise the “most accurate blood-flow measurements”.
While the Powerbeats Pro 2 will automatically enable its heart-rate monitor once iPhone users start a workout session, Android users will have to remember to manually enable this through the Beats app.
Otherwise, the heart rate monitor is supported via many third-party apps including Peloton, Nike Run Club and more.

Both have on-device controls
During an intense workout session, you likely don’t want to have to fumble for your smartphone to change the song or control your earbuds. Fortunately, both earbuds aim to solve this issue.
Firstly, the Powerbeats Fit features a multifunctional button on each bud, which enables you to play, pause, skip forward or backward. Not only that but the Powerbeats Fit sense when in-ear and automatically plays audio.
In addition, the Powerbeats Pro 2 also has on-ear buttons to control music without needing to reach for your phone. Plus, each earbud has a tactile volume rocker to ensure you can maintain a comfortable volume level during your workout.
Early Verdict
As we haven’t reviewed the Powerbeats Fit yet, we’ll refrain from coming to a conclusive verdict.
Having said that, there is only £50 / $50 separating the H1-powered earbuds from the H2-powered Powerbeats Pro 2, which benefit from a longer battery life and a useful heart rate monitor. With that in mind, it could be worth spending that bit extra to benefit from a more feature-rich pair of earbuds.
