LG has just revealed its new OLED TVs at CES 2026, and they include a surprising twist for its most popular OLED, the C series: the LG C6 will come in two versions: The LG C6 and the LG C6H.

The good news is that the LG C6H is basically the mid-range OLED I’ve been desperate for LG to make for the last few years.

The bad news is that it only comes in a couple of large sizes, and the LG C6 remains overall extremely similar to the LG C5, but still with one major upgrade.

So what’s the deal with them? It all comes down to the OLED panel inside.

    LG C6H explained

The LG C6H uses a Primary RGB Tandem panel, which is essentially what’s in the five-star LG G5. This should mean a huge boost in brightness and an improvement to color vibrancy compared to last year’s LG C5.

(Note that the LG G6 is getting upgraded to a Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 panel, so will still have a brightness and color edge over the LG C6H.)

This comes with a big downside, though: the C6H only comes in 77-inch and 83-inch sizes. LG mentioned that this makes sense because these TVs are common for bright living rooms, and 65-inch and smaller are common for bedrooms or other secondary use. I am not sure that’s really reflective of the US on average, let alone the rest of the world, but it’s the info I have for you.

One other thing to note about the C6H is that it doesn’t have as good an anti-reflection coating as the LG G5, despite having the same core OLED panel. It and the regular C6 will be on par in this regard.

The LG C6 and the processor upgrade

The regular LG C6 will use the same kind of panel as the LG C5, and comes in 42-inch, 48-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch sizes. So these will all be less bright and rich than the C6H’s sizes – and it’s worth mentioning here that the 42-inch and 48-inch sizes are also less bright than the other sizes, due to how tightly the pixels are packed together. So really there are three tiers of LG C6 brightness variations, but only two model names.

Both the LG C6 and LG C6H will benefit from a processor upgrade, though. Both models get the new Alpha 11 Gen 3, and this is notable: the Alpha 11 processors were previously reserved for flagship TVs only, but now they’re coming to the mid-range sets.

LG says this is processor is much more powerful, and will enable a new level of AI-based upscaling, and much improved tech to boost SDR into HDR.

It also means the LG C6 and C6H will have all the features of the LG G6, including support for the new Dolby Atmos FlexConnect-powered LG Sound Stage soundbar and wireless speakers.

Because of the potentially huge difference in performance, we’ll review the LG C6 and C6H as separate models when the time comes. We don’t know when that is yet, but LG’s first TVs usually appear in spring, so I’d guess a March debut. We don’t have prices yet.
