These are all things that the Hisense Hi8 Induction Hob 60cm HI6443BSCWF has. In fact, it’s probably the easiest-to-use hob I’ve tested, and it comes with the added benefit of a smart app.

The Hisense Hi8 Induction Hob 60cm HI6443BSCWF is a standard-width induction hob. Much like other models, this one has four burners, which can be used individually, or you can use the two BridgeArea zones: these let me join the two zones on the left and/or the two zones on the right into a larger zone that can work with grill plates or larger dishes.

It’s a sensible and flexible layout, and my favourite for this type of induction hob. Indeed, it’s the same layout that the Neff N90 T66YYY4C0 and Indesit IB 88B60 NE use.
Overall, there’s a good amount of space on this hob, whether you’re using two large pans or four smaller ones.

It’s the controls that make this hob stand out from the competition. Pan detection knows when you’ve added a pan down, and the zone lights up. Power modes are listed in a line from 0 (off) to 9 (maximum), with the Power Boost (P) setting beyond. Just tap anywhere on this line to set the power mode you want. I found that this hob was much quicker to operate than the competition.

When you bridge two zones together using the dedicated button, both power lines light up, and you can use either to adjust power settings. The Power Boost mode doesn’t with two zones connected, which is a minor shame.

That’s clever, but the Hisense Hi8 Induction Hob 60cm HI6443BSCWF has more available. Move a pan from one zone to another, and the new zone flashes; tap the power button on the new zone and all heat and timer settings are moved to the new zone. That’s really handy and makes cooking easier.
For example, I sometimes start dishes with a higher power mode using one of the front burners, but move pans back to simmer when less attention is required. The Hisense Hi8 Induction Hob 60cm HI6443BSCWF makes that job easy. This mode is particularly impressive given the price of the hob.

The Hisense Hi8 Induction Hob 60cm HI6443BSCWF is also intuitive in the way that it works. Power Boost settings typically limit the maximum power available to other burners, which is the case here but in a sensible way.
Power Boost can be enabled on one burner on the left- and right- sides at the same time, the remaining burners can operate at power six maximum. This configuration means that you easily move pans around while cooking to free up a side for Power Boost when required.
Cleverly, the Hisense Hi8 Induction Hob 60cm HI6443BSCWF has some automated cooking modes. Hit the A button, and the display shows the options available: Melt (a gentle heat for things like butter or chocolate); Warm (keep food warm); Simmer (keep food just under boiling point); Grill (for use with griddle pans); Fry (for use when you want to fry food); and Boil (for rapidly boiling a pan of water).

It’s nice to have such quick access to these modes, which do honestly make it easier to cook on the Hisense Hi8 Induction Hob 60cm HI6443BSCWF.
Each zone also has a timer available, easily set using the touch controls. At the end, when the timer runs out, the zone powers down.

As well as the brilliant touch controls, the Hisense Hi8 Induction Hob 60cm HI6443BSCWF is also compatible with the ConnectLife app. This is useful for remotely monitoring the hob, and you get notifications when a timer runs out, which is useful.

To see how well a hob performs, I run some standard tests including timing how long it takes to bring different-sized pans from 20°C to 90°C. Here, the burners are all the same size, with the Power Boost setting running at 3kW.
Starting with the small pan with 500ml of water, the Hisense Hi8 Induction Hob 60cm HI6443BSCWF managed to heat the water in just 1m 28s, which is only a few seconds behind the Neff N90.
With my mid-sized pan and 1-litre of water, the water hit temperature in 2m 7s. There are few hobs that can do better.

With my large pan and 1.5-litres of water, heating took 3m 9s. That’s fast, and only the Miele KM7201FR with its double power boost setting was faster.
Testing the automatic modes, I found the melt option worked perfectly. With a block of butter, the Hisense Hi8 Induction Hob 60cm HI6443BSCWF managed to melt it slowly but carefully; once melted, the butter stayed that way and didn’t start to burn.
Should you buy it?
You want a brilliant value 60cm hob
With a smart app, intuitive controls, automatic cooking programmes and powerful performance, this hob is a bargain.
If you want more physical cooking space, look for an 80cm wide hob instead.
Final Thoughts
The Hisense Hi8 Induction Hob 60cm HI6443BSCWF is incredibly value given its power, connected features and brilliant control system. If you want more control, then the Neff N90’s frying sensor adds an extra dimension to cooking, but you pay a lot more for the privilege.
