It also includes real-time translation, which could be particularly useful if you’re planning any holiday travels or winter trips abroad.
CNET’s wearables expert Scott Stein noted that the first-generation glasses “do just about everything the newer second-gen models do,” but without the upgraded battery and video camera. If video recording isn’t your main priority, going with the first-gen model can save you quite a bit of money while providing largely the same features. As long as you’re OK with the shorter battery life.
