OnePlus just officially pulled the curtain back on the Ace 6T in China, and it’s basically a flagship disguised as a mid-ranger. This launch is a massive teaser because the Ace 6T is widely expected to be the blueprint for the OnePlus 15R, which is set to land in India on December 17.

If you are curious about the price, the phone starts at CNY 2,599 (around USD 367) for the base model. If you want the fully maxed-out version with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, you’re looking at CNY 3,699 (around USD 523). It hits shelves today, December 5, in three colours: Flash Black, Fleeting Green, and Electric Violet.

Under the hood, this thing is a beast. It’s one of the first phones running the brand-new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. Paired with the claimed super-fast storage and OnePlus’s new “Wind Chaser” gaming tech, OnePlus says it can chew through heavy games without breaking a sweat.

Why it matters – and what comes next for OnePlus buyers

This launch is significant because OnePlus loves a good rebrand. The “Ace” phones in China almost always morph into the “R-series” for global markets. So, looking at the Ace 6T is basically getting a sneak peek at the upcoming 15R.

The screen is a massive 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a blazing 165Hz refresh rate – perfect for gamers. The camera setup is solid too, featuring a 50MP main sensor with OIS that can shoot 4K video at 120fps, plus a standard ultrawide and selfie cam.

But the real headline is the durability and battery. OnePlus gave this phone an insane combination of IP ratings (IP66, IP68, and even IP69K). That means it can withstand high-pressure water jets and dust better than most “rugged” phones. On top of that, it packs a ridiculous 8,300mAh battery with 100W charging. That is easily one of the biggest batteries we have ever seen in a mainstream phone.

For anyone waiting for the December 17 keynote, this is your roadmap. Expect next-gen speed, a screen that’s faster than your laptop, and a battery that refuses to die. Now, we just have to wait and see if the global pricing stays this aggressive.
