Sendy Audio has revealed its latest pair of planar magnetic headphones, the Egret, blending a newly engineered nano-scale diaphragm with the company’s trademark handcrafted wood design.
As shared by Sivga, the centrepiece of the Egret is a custom 98 × 84mm planar magnetic driver, the largest and most ambitious the company has built to date. It uses a composite diaphragm measuring under 800 nanometres, allowing for faster response times and tighter control over movement.
Sendy’s Electron Beam Evaporation Deposition process is used to apply ultra-fine aluminium circuitry directly onto the diaphragm at the atomic level, a manufacturing approach that aims to reduce distortion while pulling out more detail and spaciousness than previous generations.
The design still leans heavily into the signature Sendy aesthetic. The use of natural solid wood for each earcup, with different grain patterns, in addition to a fully open-back structure, helps create a more transparent soundstage.
Padding and weight distribution have also been reworked, with a contoured headband and soft leather earpads that balance its roughly 420g build for longer listening sessions.

Sendy describes Egret’s tuning as full-bodied and organic, with extended bass, clear mids and smoother upper frequencies, a sound profile familiar to fans of the brand but backed here by the upgraded diaphragm and driver architecture.
The headphone’s frequency range spans 8Hz to 40kHz, with 38Ω impedance and 103dB sensitivity, making it suitable for both desktop amps and more portable audio players.
The included detachable cable is another standout element which is built with a triple-metal composite — 30 strands of Furukawa OFC copper, 10 strands of silver-plated copper and 10 strands of gold-plated copper — it’s designed for improved conductivity and clarity.
A graphene-reinforced PVC jacket boosts durability, while bundled 4.4mm balanced and 3.5mm single-ended adapters ensure broad compatibility straight out of the box.
The headphones arrive on 4 December 2025, priced at £799 / $799 / €879, and slot neatly into Sendy’s growing lineup of high-end open-back models.
