Byte-Sized Brief
- Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold has a 10-inch folding screen.
- Reworked dual hinges help the panels fold tightly.
- DeX runs directly on the phone for desktop work.
Samsung’s tri-fold phone that we heard about earlier this year now has an official name and a real release date. Called the Galaxy Z TriFold, the device has a 6.5-inch cover screen that opens twice to reveal a 10-inch screen that resembles a small tablet more than a phone. The folding system has been reworked with two hinges that tuck the panels together more neatly and a shock-absorbing display layer for better resistance. Inside, you get a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, Wi-Fi 7, and a 200 MP main camera. The battery, which is the largest ever used in a Samsung foldable, spans all three panels for steadier power delivery.
The cover screen matches the Z Fold 7’s at 6.5 inches.

The bigger screen gives you room to use more than one app without feeling cramped. You can resize them or pull up the taskbar to jump back into something you had open earlier. With standalone Samsung DeX, you can plug into a monitor for a full desktop experience. Samsung plans to roll out the TriFold starting December 12 in Korea, with the US and other regions following at a later date. Pricing is currently unknown; it will be available in black and run Android 16 with One UI 8.
The Bottom Line
Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold opens into a 10-inch screen and packs upgraded hinges and productivity tools. It arrives in stages, starting in Korea this month.
