What better gift is there than a brighter start to the day? If you’re wondering what to buy your friends this Christmas, I’d recommend you buy the Dreamegg sunrise alarm clock for $56.99 at Amazon now and make all their mornings easier.
I’ve been pretty stumped on what to buy my friends this Christmas. But when one friend mentioned how much she’s struggling to wake up for work on dark, cold mornings, I had a light bulb moment: I’ll buy her one of the best sunrise alarm clocks.

How does the Dreamegg compare to the Hatch?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love my Hatch Restore 3 sunrise alarm clock. The sunrise simulation is gentle but energizing and the sound quality is excellent — I love listening to relaxing sleep meditations before bed and waking up to the upbeat Coachella sunrise. Plus, it looks chic on my bedside table.
However, at $169.99 at full MSRP, it is on the pricey side, even if it is great value for money for the quality you get. Plus, in order to unlock all its features you have to pay for $4.99 per month (or $49.99 for the year) for the Hatch+ subscription.
In contrast, the Dreamegg is down to $56.99 in the current Cyber Monday sales. That’s over $100 cheaper than the Hatch. Visually, the Dreamegg shares many similarities with the Hatch and looks much more expensive than it is.
Features-wise, both alarm clocks emit a slow release of light before sounding an actual alarm. And that’s where you can start to tell them apart. In terms of sound quality, the Dreamegg just doesn’t compete with the Hatch — but still much, much better than a tinny phone alarm.
Ultimately, if you want it an can afford it, I would recommend the Hatch. But if you’re looking to stretch your money further this Christmas (and who isn’t), the Dreamegg is a worthy alternative.
