What to Look for in a Smartwatch or Fitness Tracker Deal
While you can certainly find excellent smartwatch and fitness tracker deals on Black Friday, you may need to look a little harder than you would for a category like robot vacuums. Current-generation wearables usually only get a minor discount, so if you see one for more than 30% off, snag it. Yes, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 is a year old, and the Galaxy Watch 8 introduces a few key features, including a running coach and antioxidant testing. That said, I prefer the look of the older Galaxy Watch 7, and Samsung recently rolled out its latest software to the older model, including access to Google’s Gemini for conversational assistance with searching the web and navigating apps. Given that both models now have the same software, the gap between them has narrowed, and the Galaxy Watch 7 remains a highly capable smartwatch for activity, exercise, and sleep tracking with access to all major third-party apps through Wear OS and the Google Play Store.
The price of the Galaxy Watch 7 is currently stellar. The 48% discount applies to its current list price of $249.99, which is already reduced from $299.99 at launch. At $129.99, it’s less than the $199.99 list price of the budget-friendly Galaxy Watch FE, and lower than the FE’s current sale price of $174.99. In other words, if you want a new smartwatch to pair with your Samsung phone, this is a no-brainer.
