Black Friday deals on streaming devices
Fire TV Stick 4K Max: $35
The Fire TV Stick 4K Max is the top dog in Amazon’s streaking stick line, sitting just above the Fire TV Stick 4K. It’s $10 more than the regular Fire TV Stick 4K, but for the extra $2 (!) you get 40% more power (which means faster app loads and better overall navigation), as well as Wi-Fi 6 support for faster streaming.
Roku Streaming Stick 4K: $25
The Roku Streaming Stick 4K is occasionally $10 off at Amazon and Roku but is selling at full price right now. Still, it’s $20 less than the Roku Streaming Stick 4K Plus. The difference between the two? The newer 4K Plus device comes with Roku’s new Voice Remote Pro that offers four things you don’t get with the older Voice Remote: a headphone jack for private listening, a rechargeable battery, hands-free voice controls and a clever find-my-remote feature. There’s a reason it won CNET’s Editor’s Choice Award.

Google TV 4K Streaming Stick: $75
This is a sleek, powerful upgrade to Google’s Chromecast streaming stick. It supports Android’s OS, features Google TV’s entertainment hub, and, as CNET’s Ty Pendlebury stated in his review, it’s best for users “who have a smart home decked out with Nest devices.”
- Amazon Fire TV Stick HD: $18 (save $17). This streaming stick from Amazon has HD streaming as well as impressive voice features. And now you can score it for almost half off.
- Amazon Fire TV Cube: $90 (save $50). Get the Fire TV platform with this ultra-fast streamer with support for Dolby Vision, HDR, Dolby Atmos and Wi-Fi 6E.
- Roku HD Streaming Stick: $15 (save $15). There’s a reason we call this Roku streaming device one of the most affordable ones on the market today. There’s no 4K resolution, but you can still get all the essential streaming apps in HD, along with over 500 free live channels. Talk about a bargain.
- Roku Streaming Stick Plus: $20 (save $20). Formerly known as the Express 4K Plus, this stick is a mild upgrade from the basic Roku stick, but has 4K, Airplay and Bluetooth capability.
- Roku Streambar SE: $75 (save $25). Roku’s two-in-one sound and streaming bar is over 30% off. CNET’s David Carnoy recommends the Streambar SE from Roku as a “solid upgrade over most built-in TV speakers.”
What is the best streaming service?
In our list of the best streaming services, Netflix won the top overall spot. However, the best streaming service will really depend on what type of content you like to watch. For example, families may find that Disney Plus better meets their needs, as it offers a wider variety of children’s content alongside teen and adult programming.
What’s the difference between Black Friday and Cyber Monday?
Black Friday is a shopping holiday that takes place on the Friday after Thanksgiving. It historically placed a larger emphasis on in-store doorbuster deals, while Cyber Monday is primarily an online shopping holiday. Though there has been a major rise in online sales during Black Friday and Cyber Week over the past several years.
Am I locked into a contract if I sign up for one of these Black Friday streaming deals?
If you sign up for one of these streaming promotions with a monthly discount offering, you can still cancel at any time. Though canceling early will make you lose out on the promotional pricing if you decide to rejoin later.
Of course, if you pay upfront for a full year or even a lifetime contract, such as through Curiosity Stream’s lifetime subscription deal, you will have access for the full promotional period.
How did we choose these Black Friday deals?
We scoured the available deals to find the streaming service discounts that truly offer a solid value. We’ve chosen deals from the best streaming services around, and are regularly updating this list as new promotions become available.
Do Black Friday streaming service deals actually save you money?
Generally, yes. A few streaming services are offering some really great Black Friday deals at the moment, including some offers that can save you up to 40% on monthly plans. The caveat is that many of these deals are exclusive to new subscribers, while others may only last for a few months, rather than the entire year.
If you know you want to sign up for a streaming service soon, it may be best to skip free trial offers and instead sign up as a new subscriber while the deals are in full swing.
Is there a Netflix Black Friday deal?
Sadly, no. Netflix rarely offers discounts, and that applies to Black Friday, too. It’s available in a bundle if you’re an Xfinity customer who signs up for the StreamSaver package, however, which gives you Netflix, Peacock and Apple TV together. Verizon customers may also get Netflix and HBO Max bundled as a perk.
