Ireland vs Australia Preview
Andy Farrell’s Ireland side will come into this fixture with a level of confidence. This Irish side have beaten Australia in six out of their last seven meetings and haven’t lost to the Wallabies in Dublin since 2013. At home, the Aviva has become something of a fortress for the home side which may overwhelm their visitors this weekend.
However, there have been some mix ups in the Ireland squad, with captain, Caelan Doris leading from the back row and Mack Hansen handed a new challenge as a full-back, replacing the injured Hugo Keenan.
For the Wallabies, this is a test of how far they have come. Under Joe Schmidt, the Aussies are trying to rebuild a bit of consistency after a turbulent few years and they had looked back to their best with a strong start to the Rugby Championship. To claim victory in Dublin, Australia will have to disrupt an Ireland side that are in full flow and turn territory into points, something they have failed to do in recent years and will be hoping to avenge come Saturday.
