FAQs
When is Black Friday?
This year, Black Friday falls on Friday, Nov. 28. Cyber Monday follow shortly after on Monday, Dec. 1.
When will Best Buy have Black Friday sales?
Best Buy was one of the first retailers to roll out its set of dates for holiday sales. On Oct. 20, the brand released its full schedule of events through the end of December. The brand’s Door(BOO)ster deals technically kicked off over a full month of savings, which started on Halloween. Here’s the details:
- Early Black Friday Deals: Oct. 31-Nov. 19
- Black Friday Sale: Nov. 20-29
- Cyber Sunday and Monday: Nov. 30-Dec. 1
- Last-Minute Savings: Dec. 15-24
Are deals really cheaper during Black Friday?
The holiday season, including Black Friday, is generally a great time to scoop up deals on a multitude of products, including flagship tech. While it’s true to shop smart you need to be aware of sly tactics like markups and faux discounts, price tracking tools like Keepa and CamelCamelCamel make it easier than ever to ensure you’re getting the best deal possible. Black Friday is also an excellent time to save on last year’s latest tech, as we’ve seen dozens of new releases in phones, TVs, laptops, tablets and more over the last 6 months.

How did we choose these early Best Buy Black Friday deals?
ZDNET only writes about deals we want to buy — devices and products we desire, need, or would recommend. Our experts looked for deals that were at least 20% off (or are hardly ever on sale), using established price comparison tools and trackers to determine whether the deal is actually on sale and how frequently it drops. We’ve also cross-checked our deals across retailers, and continue to cover numerous offers through this month. If it’s cheaper elsewhere, we won’t include that deal in our roundup unless there’s an explicit reason to.
We also looked over customer reviews to find out what matters to real people who already own and use the deals we’re recommending. Our recommendations may also be based on our own testing — in addition to extensive research and comparison shopping. The goal is to deliver the most accurate advice to help you shop smarter.
Do I get benefits for being a MyBestBuy member?
Now through Nov. 16, MyBestBuy members earn $5 in rewards for every $50 spent on this weekend’s doorbusters, up to $25 in reward credit.
How do these Best Buy deals compare to other retailers like Walmart or Costco?
Best Buy and Walmart’s deals are fairly comparable, though not necessarily the same exact products are on sale at both retailers during this early Black Friday sale window. Best Buy tends to have more broad discounts on products, while I’ve seen select early Walmart deals more limited by factors like color or size. Generally, Best Buy’s prices tend to trend higher than other reatilers, but their holiday doorbusters are genuinely legit.
