Final’s Tonalite headphones take a 3D scan of your head

Final’s new Tonalite earphones might just redefine what “personalised sound” really means.

These true wireless buds don’t just adapt to your preferences; they scan your head and ears in 3D to create a digital twin of how you hear.

Using the Tonalite app, listeners can perform a quick 3D scan of their head and ears using only a smartphone camera.

The app guides users step by step, capturing every contour before combining that data with an in-app ear canal measurement. From there, Final’s Digital Twin Audio Simulation (DTAS) engine analyses how sound waves travel through your unique anatomy and builds a Personalised Timbre Profile, a sound signature that matches the way you naturally perceive music.

That personal sound model is then downloaded straight into the earphones, meaning every song is tailored to your ears alone, reproducing the subtle tone and texture of instruments exactly as intended. You can even switch between two listening modes: Final’s signature tuning, which is inspired by its high-end A10000 IEMs or your fully customised timbre profile.

Beyond its headline feature, the Tonalite packs all the essentials of a flagship pair of wireless earbuds. There’s Hybrid Noise Control with both Active Noise Cancelling and Ambient modes, Bluetooth 6 connectivity with SBC, AAC, and LDAC codecs, and up to 8 hours of playback or 24 hours with the case. The case and buds each charge fully in around 100 minutes.

Priced at $329, the Tonalite is available on Kickstarter until December 2, with early backers getting up to 25% off. Shipping begins in early December, with a wider release following soon after.

Final, one of Japan’s most respected audio brands, says Tonalite represents the culmination of decades of acoustic and psychoacoustic research. “Timbre is what makes sound feel alive,” the company notes, and with the Tonalite, it might finally sound like it was made just for you.
