When you’ve created shows as successful and iconic as Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, there’s going to be incredible pressure for your next thing. But, with Pluribus, Vince Gilligan not only lives up to that promise, he might surpass it. The first two episodes of his incredible new sci-fi show are currently on Apple TV+, and to help spread the word, he’s recruited a few old friends.

On Pluribus, most people on Earth have been brainwashed through a delightfully devious series of events. One of the very few who hasn’t is Carol (Rhea Seehorn of Better Call Saul), so all the rest do their best to make her feel at ease so she’ll join their cause. Everyone, including Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul stars Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Bob Odenkirk, Giancarlo Esposito, Jonathan Banks, and others. Check it out.

If you haven’t watched the first two episodes yet, well, do that immediately. The show is mind-blowing. But, if you need a bit more context or selling, here’s the deal. You learn very early on that this is all a sort of alien invasion. Humanity gets a radio signal from space (like Contact), and it ends up creating a substance that makes everyone on Earth not only happy but also one singular hive mind. Except for a few people. Like Carol. Who, at least for now, is doing everything she can to fight it.

And since basically everyone on Earth has been taken, it makes sense that the actors from Breaking Bad would be among them. As would Drew Barrymore, Carol Burnett, etc. But don’t take this cheeky promo as confirmation of a Breaking Bad crossover or anything like that. This uses footage from the first episode, along with self-tapes, to create merely a fun little clip. But, if you want to imagine these people exist in this universe, by all means. We think Vince Gilligan would be fine with it.

Do yourself a favor, and check out Pluribus on Apple TV+. We can’t wait to see where it goes from here.
