The lead-up to Pluribus has been very secretive. The basic premise — miserable woman is stuck in a world where everyone is happy — was known early on, but that was followed by cryptic trailers that didn’t really reveal much else. But now we have a much better idea of what Pluribus is after the first two episodes premiered on Apple TV.

That mysterious nature is the main reason why I avoided almost all spoilers in my initial review of the show. It’s the kind of story where preserving that feeling of surprise is very important. But Pluribus is also a series that begs for a deeper discussion. In fact, that’s one of the goals of creator Vince Gilligan, best known for Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

Before the premiere, Gilligan told me that he loved “the idea of generating conversations, of generating social interactions, people getting together — hopefully in person, social media isn’t my favorite thing — but whatever it takes to get people talking.”

And that’s where you come in.

Now that we’ve all had a chance to watch the premiere, I want to have a book club-style discussion about Pluribus for Verge subscribers right here in the comments. A place where we can discuss things in a spoiler-heavy context, and throw around theories and predictions about what we’ve seen so far. As an added bonus, I’ve actually seen most of the season already, so I can help answer some questions about what comes next without, of course, ruining things before an episode airs.

So drop all of your questions, theories, and stray thoughts about Pluribus here. I’ll be checking in throughout the day to join in the chat.
