Games Workshop is continuing the story of Warhammer 40,000 and Titus, the main character of 2024’s Space Marine II, in an upcoming set of books for its sci-fi wargame.
Revealed during this weekend’s Warhammer World Championship Preview, the four-book series, dubbed 500 Worlds: Titus, serve as the next major narrative expansion for Warhammer 40K. Set during the Ultramarian Reclamation, Titus—now promoted to the rank of Captain—leads the Ultramarines Second Company against a a Necron force “rife with the Destroyer curse.”
Where the first book features lore and photos of miniatures, the second book, War on the Vespator Front, contains a brand-new campaign system. In it, three factions fight against each other to control critical locations on a large campaign map. The third book, Dread Incursions, features new maps and missions that can be played with Vespator or independently, and the last book has new Warhammer 40K detachments for the Space Marines and Necrons.
Alongside the 500 Worlds books, Games Workshop also unveiled new miniatures for Titus and his advisors and confidants that make up the Wardens of Ultramar. Some are old friends of Titus, such as Space Marine II alums Gadriel and Metaurus, others like Amelia Minervas and Lucia Vestha are brand new. On the opposing side of this conflict are the Necrons, which are lead by Nekrosor Ammentar, the supposed creator of the Destroyer curse. More than its various Destroyers, the Nekrosor’s strongest weapon on the battlefield is C’tan Shard of Nightbringer, which Games Workshop’s called “a real worst-case scenario for the Ultramarines.”
Games Workshop didn’t provide a release date or price point for these new Warhammer 40K additions, but it did promise more news was coming and that “Titus will be back.”
