This week brings us an A24 rom-com hit, a return to the Planet of the Apes, and some holiday hoarding.

Materialists (Nov. 7)
Celine Song’s charming and funny Materialists won raves when it was released in theaters, cementing her reputation as one of the most able chroniclers of modern relationships. Dakota Johnson plays a New York City matchmaker who attends a client’s wedding, only to run into both her ex and a charming, persistent new man. All the complex ridiculousness of modern love ensues, along with a few twists you won’t see coming.
Hoarding For The Holidays (Nov. 12)
I think everybody knows at least one person who has a catastrophic amount of decorations in boxes and bins, just ready to explode all over their homes when the season begins. New HGTV special Hoarding for the Holidays introduces viewers to the worst of the worst, people who can’t let a single ornament or piece of tinsel go, and helps them get their house in order before Santa shows up.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (Nov. 13)
The resurgence of the Planet of the Apes franchise has been one of the more surprising success stories of the 21st century, and the fourth film in the reboot series is a hoot and a holler. In Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, lower primates have completely taken over the planet, with humans living as scattered scavengers. But when a clan of apes breaks the peace, things get unpleasant quickly.
