OnePlus has just confirmed some camera details related to the upcoming OnePlus 15. The information comes from Li Jie, the President of OnePlus China, ahead of the October 27 launch event.
The OnePlus 15 will feature three 50-megapixel cameras on the back
Li Jie confirmed that the OnePlus 15 will use OPPO’s Lumo Condensed Light Imaging System. He also confirmed that the phone will have three 50-megapixel cameras on the back, as we expected.
The phone’s periscope telephoto camera will offer 3.5x optical zoom (85mm equivalent), while the main camera will be able to shoot 4K Dolby video at 120fps. That is basically everything camera-wise that has been confirmed by him.
Some details are missing, at least in the official sense of things. The other two 50-megapixel cameras will be wide and ultrawide unit, though, that much we know for certain. The main camera sensor will allegedly be Sony’s LYT-700 unit, which is a 1/1.56-inch sensor. The ultrawide unit will use the ISOCELL JN5, allegedly.
The initial launch event will take place in less than a week
OnePlus has already confirmed that the phone will launch on October 27, in China. The global launch date hasn’t been confirmed yet, but November 13 is heavily rumored.
The company confirmed that the OnePlus 15 will have a new, powerful cooling system. The company’s also confirmed that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC will fuel the phone. We also know that a 165Hz 1.5K display will be included.
On top of that, you can expect to see a 7,300mAh battery inside the phone, at least in the Chinese model. 120W wired charging will also be included, and the same goes for 50W wireless charging. OnePlus also revealed the three color options that will be available in China.
OnePlus will keep revealing details piece by piece until the launch event. The company is also expected to confirm the global launch date in the near future.
