Byte-Sized Brief
- Lenovo brings AI to the next FIFA World Cup.
- AI tools will guide coaches and enhance broadcasts.
- Fans are expected to get live insights during matches.
Lenovo is using artificial intelligence (AI) to reshape the next FIFA World Cup. Its systems will provide real-time data that helps coaches analyze games as they happen and enhance how fans experience matches from the stands or at home. “AI will transform our game like it will certainly transform society,” said Arsène Wenger, FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development, during Lenovo’s Accelerate event in Monaco.
What could this mean for the people actually watching the game? It’s a chance for fans to see the game in a more informed way, possibly with smarter stats and replays, and maybe interactive tools that explain what’s unfolding on the field. Lenovo says its ThinkPad laptops, servers, and Motorola phones will be incorporated into next year’s tournament to power the data. The same setup will be used at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2027.
The Bottom Line
Lenovo’s AI technology will power new tools that bring fans and teams closer to the action at the 2026 World Cup.
