Netflix has confirmed its slate of everything new in November 2025, and there’s plenty of movies arriving on the streaming service in the weeks ahead. In fact, you don’t need to wait to start watching some great flicks, and more than 40 movies have been added to the Netflix library already.

With so many fresh additions, it’s hard to know where to start, so I’ve turned to Rotten Tomatoes to give you an idea of which newcomers scored highest with critics. Of course, a high score on the review aggregate site is not a guarantee that a movie will appeal to your personal tastes, but it’s a useful indication that a movie is generally considered to be of high quality.

All six movies on this list scored at least 90% or higher on Rotten Tomatoes, which is quite a tall bar to meet. So without further introduction, let’s dive into the highest-scoring new movies added to Netflix this month.

    ‘Back to the Future’ (1985)

Netflix is adding the entire “Back to the Future” trilogy this month, and while “Back to the Future Part II” is certainly a fan favorite, I don’t think many people would disagree when I say the original remains the best. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, it’s a sci-fi adventure that has completely embedded itself in the pop culture lexicon over the past four decades, and its enduring popularity shows no signs of waning any time soon. There’s a reason that Marty McFly and Doc Brown remain a staple of any costume party.

If you somehow don’t know the basic outline of “Back to the Future,” it follows teen Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox), who is flung from the 1980s back to the ‘50s in a modified DeLorean car created by his eccentric inventor friend, Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd). Now, in the past, Marty meets younger versions of his parents (Crispin Glover and Lea Thompson) and has to play matchmaker to ensure they fall in love and the future isn’t changed.

    ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ (2018)

CRAZY RICH ASIANS – Official Trailer – YouTube

    Watch On

“Crazy Rich Asians” was a breakout hit when it landed in theatres in 2018, and it’s not exactly a mystery why critics and audiences alike fell under the spell of its charming rom-com. Not only does it proudly carry the flag for on-screen representation, but it’s bursting with likeable characters, genuinely sharp writing and clever direction from Jon M. Chu. What more could you want from a romantic comedy?

The cast includes Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Gemma Chan, Lisa Lu, Awkwafina and Ken Jeong. And I’ve not forgotten about the Oscar-winner Michelle Yeoh. The rom-com sees Rachel (Wu) travel with her boyfriend Nick (Golding) to his hometown in Singapore for a family wedding. There she discovers that Nick’s family is not only mega-rich but he’s also considered one of the most desirable bachelors in all of Asia. This surprise revelation certainly changes the dynamic of their courtship as Rachel has to grapple with a disapproving mother, jealousy from several love rivals and lots more.

    ‘Frances Ha’ (2013)

    Watch On

Before Greta Gerwig stepped into the director’s chair to make modern classics like “Ladybird,” “Little Women,” and, of course, “Barbie,” she was most known for her collaboration with real-life husband, Noah Baumbach. “Frances Ha” is a 2012 comedy directed by Baumbach and co-written alongside Gerwig, who also stars as the eponymous Frances Halladay. If you enjoyed the quirky humor of “Ladybird,” you’ll be right at home here.

    You may like

Much like its lead character, “Frances Ha” is a little aimless in the narrative department, but what keeps you engaged is Gerwig’s committed performance and wonderful sense of comedic timing. The movie follows Frances as she attempts to get her life in order, starting with finding somewhere to live and then getting a stable job. It’s hilarious and heartfelt, with just a sprinkling of cringe humor as well. If you’ve ever felt directionless in your life, then you might relate more than you expect to Frances’ plight.

    ‘In the Heights’ (2021)

Another movie directed by Jon M. Chu, “In the Heights,” is a big-budget adaptation of the Broadway production of the same name, which arrived on the stage in the mid-2000s and went on to win Best Musical at the Tonys. Most significantly, the music was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the man behind the stage smash hit “Hamilton.” While “In the Heights” doesn’t reach the same heights, it’s still a toe-tapping experience with a strong cast.

Set in Washington Heights (hence the name), it chronicles the lives of various residents as they chase their dreams and work hard to build a better life for themselves and their loved ones. At the center of it all is Usnavi (Anthony Ramos), a dreamer with big plans of moving to the Dominican Republic to revive his late father’s business. Also starring Corey Hawkins, Leslie Grace and Melissa Barrera, “In the Heights” is a vibrant musical.

‘Judas and the Black Messiah’ (2021)

JUDAS AND THE BLACK MESSIAH – Official Trailer – YouTube

    Watch On

“Judas and the Black Messiah” is a hard-hitting biographical drama that centers on the Black Panther Party and its leader, Fred Hampton. There are plenty of reasons to watch this powerful picture, but the biggest is unquestionably Daniel Kaluuya’s incredible turn as Hampton. He rightfully received the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his work, while the movie itself was nominated for a further five Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

William O’Neal (LaKeith Stanfield) infiltrates the Illinois chapter of the Black Panthers after cutting a deal with the FBI to have charges against him dropped if he can get close to party leader, Fred Hampton. Under the direction of his handler, Roy Mitchell (Jesse Plemons), O’Neal breaks into Hampton’s inner circle and observes up close the power of Hampton’s movement. Eventually, he’s forced to pick whether to betray Hampton.

    ‘Paddington 2’ (2018)

PADDINGTON 2 – Full US Trailer – YouTube

    Watch On

“Paddington 2” is one of the strongest sequels ever made. It takes everything that was so wonderfully whimsical about director Paul King’s first big-screen take on the iconic brown bear and raises the stakes. But most importantly, the very British charms haven’t been lost, even if this time Paddington’s adventure is much grander in scale (and includes a stint in prison!). There’s a reason it holds an almost perfect 99% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Now settled in London and a much-loved member of the Brown family, Paddington is on the hunt for the perfect birthday gift to send to his Aunt Lucy. He selects a colorful pop-up book of the English capital, but when the item is stolen by a crafty villain (a truly fantastic Hugh Grant) and the bear is framed for the crime, it’s a race against time to find the culprit and prove Paddington innocent. “Paddington 2” is simply delightful from start to finish.
