If there’s one genre that seems to be persistently popular with Netflix viewers, it’s thrillers. Any time the streaming service adds a thriller movie, whether it’s a new original or an old favorite, it tends to be warmly received. And I get why, it’s hard to beat a quality thriller flick that combines ratcheting suspense, gripping tension, and a well-timed twist or two.

I’m a huge fan of the thriller genre myself, and so I’ve combed through Netflix’s November 2025 slate and looked at the latest arrivals on the popular platform to pick out a trio of well-crafted thrillers that are worth adding to your watchlist this week. My latest selections include one of David Fincher’s very best films, and the current No. 1-ranked movie in the Netflix top 10.

These are the three new to Netflix thriller movies you definitely need to stream over the next few days.

    ‘Zodiac’ (2007)

David Fincher is one of the titans of the thriller genre, having helmed the likes of “Seven,” “Fight Club” and “Gone Girl.” But perhaps his most underappreciated work is 2007’s “Zodiac,” and its recent arrival in the Netflix movie library is the perfect chance for its brilliance to be further recognised. This dark thriller feels particularly relevant in an era where true crime dominates streaming because it’s all based on the hunt for one of America’s most infamous and elusive murderers: the Zodiac Killer.

“Zodiac” chronicles the serial killers’ campaign of terror across San Francisco in the 1960s and ’70s, and Fincher brings this setting to life with his trademark meticulous eye for detail. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr. and Brian Cox, the flick focuses not just on the criminal’s despicable actions, showcasing some of his deplorable crimes, but also those caught up in the desperate hunt to discover his identity and stop his spree. It’s a movie about obsession, as its cast of well-fleshed out characters attempts to catch a killer who was ultimately never unmasked.

    ‘The Marksman’ (2021)

Liam Neeson is clearly popular among Netflix subscribers. The gruff action-star enjoyed a Netflix No. 1 earlier this year when “Ice Road: Vengeance” arrived on the streaming service in September, and now his forgotten 2021 action-thriller, “The Marksman,” has claimed the same honor. Neeson’s popularity appears to have overcome some pretty mediocre reviews, because while “The Marksman” was no critical darling, it has almost instantly climbed to the summit of the top 10 most-watched list.

“The Marksman” is very much in Neeson’s established action-thriller wheelhouse and sees him play Jim Hanson, a former Marine, now living in a border town. His peaceful life of intentional isolation is thrown into chaos when he witnesses a young boy (Jacob Perez) and his mother (Teresa Ruiz) fleeing from a Mexican drug cartel. Stepping in to assist, Jim is tasked with getting the boy to his family in Chicago, with a ruthless criminal in pursuit.

    ‘The Outfit’ (2022)

THE OUTFIT – Official Trailer – Only in Theaters March 18 – YouTube

    Watch On

“The Outfit” landed on Netflix a few weeks ago in early November, and I’m disappointed it didn’t make more of a splash. To be honest, it totally passed me by when it was released in 2022, but its resurfacing on the streaming service gave me a chance to catch up, and for that I’m grateful. Constructed almost like a stage production, with a single location and a dialogue-heavy approach, it’s a very tense crime thriller with a surprisingly slick twist.

Mark Rylance plays Leonard Burling, an English tailor living in Chicago in the 1950s. Operating his own shop, his business has become a front for the Irish Mob, who use Leonard’s outfitters to launder their dirty money and hide from the authorities. This movie is set over one faithful night, as Leonard is backed into a corner and desperately seeks a way out of an increasingly dangerous predicament. “The Outfit’s” strongest element is that you’re never sure who is in control of the situation, and how things will conclude.
