Rudo lives in the slums under a huge floating city, where the rich toss their trash into a bottomless chasm called the Pit. He scavenges through what everyone else throws away, turning junk into something useful and trying to scrape together a living with his adoptive father, Regto. For the people above, he’s just another “tribesfolk” they can blame for anything that goes wrong.
That prejudice finally catches up with him when Rudo is suddenly framed for a brutal murder. He’s dragged to the Pit and tossed in, and things only begin to worsen from there. Down there, survival is supposed to be impossible. Instead, Rudo discovers a power that lets him turn trash into deadly weapons and meets a group of “Cleaners” who fight the Pit’s trash beasts head-on. He’s just found a way to get his revenge on those who framed him.
